I (and no doubt many other pole dancers) get asked A LOT of the same questions over and over again on social media and so I thought I would write down the most frequently asked questions and answer them all for you!
Amy Hazel’s FAQ
What Song Is that?
I know this may not be what you want to hear but – Shazam it! Either get your friends phone and shazam it or log into instagram on your computer, play the video and shazam it on your own phone! Sometimes I spend countless hours on end searching for music, researching new sounds, shazaming peoples videos just to source my music and just like anything, if you put in the time and effort, you can receive the reward 😀
How did you get in to that?
If you want to learn how to do a trick, please book yourself in for a class or private and learn it from a professional. Trying to write out a description of how to do a move is not only very difficult but it is potentially dangerous as I can’t guarantee someone will be there to help spot you! Plus, figuring out and creating how to get into something is half the fun!
Where did you get your kneepads from?
They are volleyball knee pads from the sport shop. $11.95 AUD
Where did you get your socks from?
Most of my thigh high socks are American Apparel.
Where do you get pole shorts from?
Only the best brand ever – Bad Kitty! #badkittypride
Where are you from?
I am from Melbourne, Australia. Although if you meet me, my accent doesn’t sound like I am because I grew up in Hong Kong for 15 years.
How tall are you?
5ft short 🙂 – p.s. why does it matter?
How long have you pole danced for?
5 years or so.
Will you marry me?
No, sorry. I will not marry you.
Can you give me some tips to improve my flexibility?
Again, please book yourself into a class and learn in person how to improve your flexibility. Plus, stretching in contortion can become very dangerous if done with bad technique!
How do you train so much and not get sore?
Trust me, I am sore a lot of the time. But I push through a lot and spend a lot of money on recovery! Salt baths, Anti-inflammatory creams, Massages, Dry needling, foam rollers, Hydration, chiropracters, physios, myotherapists.
I hope this answered some of your ongoing questions 🙂
